Where do you get your dogs and puppies?

We get our dogs and puppies from local shelters and as owner surrenders. We do not "search out" our pets, we are always approached for help (there are SO many!!!). We only accept pets from the Florida Panhandle right now.

Why do you have so many puppies?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, there are a lot of "oops" litters in our area so puppies are in abundance. When we take a litter we spay the female mama dog, and neuter the male dog if he is known.

How do I surrender my dog or puppy?

We are limited on our intake, as we are a very small rescue. You can message us on Facebook or send us an email. We will try to get back to you, but please realize we are inundated with requests daily and there are only a few of us, so please do not be offended if we cannot take your pet. We will try to direct you to other rescues.

How much is your adoption fee?

Our adoption fees vary depending on a variety of factors. Our maximum adoption rate is $350 no matter the breed or medical needs. This is generally our puppy adoption rate because they usually have a lot of initial vetting to do.
 When we have a dog a little bit longer, or it is already vetted when it comes to us,  the fee will be less.

What is Foster to Adopt?

Most of the pets we take in are not altered yet. But our goal is to get them into a loving home as soon as possible. So as soon as they have had initial vaccines, we will let them go to homes under our "foster to adopt" program. This means the new home will care for the puppy or dog until it is altered and has all its vaccinations, with the intent to be the owner once the medical needs are fulfilled.

How is "foster to adopt" different than fostering?

In "foster to adopt", the individual or family is essentially adopting the dog and plans to be the forever family, the dog just may still need to be altered and/or receive follow up vaccinations.

On the other hand, fostering means the individual or family is giving the dog a temporary home until a forever family is found.

Do you rescue cats?

Accepted Answer

While we would like to some day help with cats,  we are not equipped to do so right now.
We have some great friends at Whiskers on the Emerald Coast, or Save Our Cats and Kittens, that specialize in cats and kittens.
